last fall
a falling leaf fell
from a way side tree
along a macadamized road


along came a blower
whose whirling machine swept it
onto the curb


along came a sucker
whose twirler urged the leave
from the inplanted
told to instantly provide shades

to go into bin

this fall
a falling leave
from a forest
will gravitate
unsung
unswept
to decompose
to nourish itself
to the roots
